Metro K9 group training classes cover foundational obedience, advanced handler skills, and real-world proofing in a structured small-group environment. Classes are capped at 6 dogs to ensure every team gets personal attention from our head trainer.
Sessions are available on a drop-in basis, as punch cards (10 classes), or as a committed 6-month block for dogs working toward advanced obedience or the Family Guardian Program. New students should create a Pet Concierge account before booking β it takes two minutes and lets you manage all your upcoming classes in one place.

What to Expect from Metro K9 Group Classes
Every Metro K9 group class is built on balanced training methods β clear communication, consistent expectations, and real-world application. Sessions run in small groups of six dogs maximum so your team gets genuine attention from our head trainer, not just supervision. We don't teach tricks in a vacuum; we train dogs to hold commands under distraction, in public, and around other animals. Whether you're starting from scratch or building on an existing foundation, you'll leave each session with practical skills you can reinforce at home.
Class Levels Available
Foundation Obedience
Core commands β sit, down, stay, recall, and leash manners β taught with impulse control built in from day one. Ideal for new dogs or owners who want to start with the right fundamentals rather than undo bad habits later.
Intermediate Obedience
Off-leash reliability, distance commands, and real-world proofing in environments with distractions. Dogs entering this level should already have solid on-leash basics. The focus shifts from learning commands to owning them.
Protection Sport
Structured Schutzhund/IGP foundation work: drive building, focused heeling, obedience under pressure, and introduction to protection work. Handler screening is required before enrollment. This program is designed for dogs and handlers who are serious about sport.
Puppy Head Start
Early socialization, bite inhibition, and foundational commands for puppies 8β20 weeks old. The window for socialization closes fast β this class is designed to take full advantage of it with structured exposure and positive first experiences.
