Standards & Science We Follow

We align our breeding and puppy development with the same standards and research that veterinary and breed organizations use. These resources support our claims and help you verify what to look for in any breeder.

  • Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA): Gold standard for hip, elbow, and cardiac screening in dogs; recognized by the AKC and breed clubs. We use OFA for our breeding stock.
  • CHIC (Canine Health Information Center): Breed-specific recommended health tests. We follow CHIC protocols for German Shepherds and Dobermans so both parents are tested before breeding.
  • Critical socialization period: Research supports a primary socialization window of roughly 3–14 weeks in puppies. We expose our litters to safe, positive experiences during this period to support confidence and resilience.
  • Temperament and genetics: Peer-reviewed work shows that behavioral traits (e.g. fear, aggression, trainability) have a heritable component. Selecting stable, health-tested parents gives each litter a better foundation than environment and training alone.
