Build a Beast is a fully custom development program. You choose the puppy; we design the training around your lifestyle, environment, and goals—family companion, guardian, or advanced working dog.

Pick Your Puppy

Select your specific puppy from our German Shepherd or Doberman litters. We help with temperament matching so the dog fits your home, experience level, and objectives—whether that’s a calm family pet or a dog prepared for protection and advanced work.

Training Exactly as You Desire

Every program is built from the ground up. We don’t force a one-size-fits-all package. You tell us what you want: obedience level, protection level, public manners, sport goals. We structure the timeline and curriculum to match.

Plenty of Visits—We Train You Too

Your involvement is built in. You make regular visits to work with your dog and with our trainers. We teach you how to handle, reinforce, and maintain what the dog learns. Handler lessons and an at-home practice plan ensure you can keep progress going long after each session.

Slow Introduction to Group Training

We don’t throw you into a crowded class. Your dog is introduced to group settings gradually, with our trainers supervising every step so we can fix issues, answer questions, and keep everyone progressing at the right pace.

Supervised Group Classes

Group classes are used as a controlled next step—same environment, other dogs and handlers, but with our team right there to correct problems, reinforce good choices, and help you and your dog build confidence. No sink-or-swim; we ease you in.

Public Settings—Still Under Our Watch

Real-world proofing happens in public settings—parks, streets, stores—but you’re never on your own. Our trainers are with you to troubleshoot, improve timing, and give you more info and training so both you and your dog get better together.

Build Your Beast — Training Options

Choose one primary track or combine several. Each option includes a clear description so you know exactly what you're building toward. Select the options and add-ons you want below, then send your selections—we'll design your custom program around them.

Core Training Tracks

Started Puppy — Foundation

Foundation obedience and house manners from day one. Name response, crate training, housebreaking, basic sit/down/stay, calm door manners, and introduction to leash walking. Ideal as a base before adding any specialty track.

Obedience — Basic to Advanced (Trained Juvenile)

Reliable on- and off-leash obedience: heel, sit, down, place, recall, and stay. Crate trained, calm in the home and in public. Real-world proofing so your dog performs around distractions. The standard foundation for family life or any advanced work.

Deterrent — Controlled Presence

Bark and hold on command; controlled presence on cue. Your dog learns to deter and announce without full engagement until you decide. Builds confidence and a clear on/off switch. Often paired with obedience for a family guardian.

Bodyguard — Full Protection

Full obedience plus confident protection with on/off control. Bite-work, hold, release on command; handler backup and controlled engagement. For homes that want a dog capable of defending when needed while remaining manageable daily.

Executive / Presidential Family Guardian

Highest standard: discreet, composed, advanced protection and public manners. Off-leash control, low-profile in public, and full capability when called on. For clients who want the most polished family protector.

Personal & Family Protection (Standalone)

Focused protection training without a specific “level” label. Controlled, reliable response on command—deter, hold, release. Customized to your environment and risk profile. Can be combined with obedience or other tracks.

Scent Detection

Train your dog to find specific odors (narcotics, explosives, or other targets). Clear indication (sit, down, or scratch); searches in rooms, vehicles, luggage, and open areas. For sport, private sector, or foundation for professional detection.

Tracking & Trailing

Tracking (ground disturbance/scent) and trailing (airborne human scent). Your dog learns to work a line from start to find with increasing difficulty. For lost persons, search and rescue, or sport.

Behavior & Manners

House manners, calm greetings, no jumping or nuisance barking; confidence building and reactivity reduction. For puppies or adults who need a solid manners and behavior foundation before or alongside other training.

Extra Handler Training & Visits

Additional one-on-one sessions so you and your family learn to handle, reinforce, and maintain everything the dog has learned. More visits = smoother handoff and better long-term results.

Group Class Introduction

Supervised introduction to group settings with other dogs and handlers. We correct, reinforce, and ease you in—no sink-or-swim. Builds reliability around distractions and other teams.

Public Proofing Sessions

Real-world work in parks, streets, and stores with our trainers beside you. We troubleshoot timing, improve focus, and proof obedience and manners where it matters most.

CGC / Canine Good Citizen Prep

Structured prep for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. We work through the exercises so your dog is ready to pass and you have a clear benchmark for manners and obedience.

Board & Train Extension

Additional board-and-train time so we can deepen obedience, protection, or specialty work while you're away. Length and focus tailored to your program.

Transport / Delivery

Guided pickup, delivery, or transport assistance so your dog gets home safely. We work with you on the best option for your location.

Documentation & Video Recap

Written summary of training completed, skills demonstrated, and a video recap of key behaviors. Useful for records, insurance, or future handlers.

Lifetime Tune-Up Sessions

Ongoing access to tune-up sessions after you go home. Brush up obedience, refresh protection cues, or work through new situations with our team.
